英國公立學校的評分機構叫Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills)，最簡單的解讀方法就是看每間學校的報告評分，共分四個評級: Outstanding、Good、Requires Improvement、Inadequate。
最近Ofsted重新審核了371間在過去十年並未有被審查的Outstanding公立中小學的評級，當中八成學校的評級由最高的Outstanding降至其他級別。之前數篇已跟大家了解過倫敦地區、英國東北、東南及中部以東地區的Outstanding公立學校降級事件。今次就選了另外兩區去講解，分別是英國West Midlands中部以西地區如Birmingham、Solihull及Warwick；以及英國西南部如Bath、Bistrol及Cornwall。
首先是West Midlands，以下有六間學校降級特別嚴重，由最高級別的Outstanding降低兩級到Requires Improvement:
-Birmingham中學: Ark St Alban’s Academy
-Birmingham中學: Lordswood Girls’ School and Sixth Form Centre
-Birmingham小學: Greet Primary School
-Sandwell小學: St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School
-Shropshire小學: Welshampton CofE Primary School
-Worcestershire小學: Lickey End First School
由Outstanding降為Good的英國West Midlands小學:
-Dudley: Our Lady and St Kenelm RC School
-Shropshire: St Peter’s CofE Primary School
-Solihull: St Margaret’s Church of England Primary School
-Solihull: Castle Bromwich Infant and Nursery School
-Solihull: Cranmore Infant School
-Solihull: Blossomfield Infant and Nursery School
-Walsall: New Invention Infant School
-Warwickshire: Welford-on-Avon Primary School
-Worcestershire: Tardebigge CofE First School
-Worcestershire: Somers Park Primary School
由Outstanding降為Good的英國West Midlands中學:
-Solihull: Arden Academy
-Staffordshire: Painsley Catholic College
-Telford and Wrekin: Haberdashers’ Adams’ Grammar School
跟著便到英國西南部，以下九間學校 (六間小學、三間中學) 降級特別嚴重，特別要留意位於Bristol的中學Montpelier High School及位於Plymouth的小學Hyde Park Infants’ School，這兩間學校均由最高級別的Outstanding降到最低級別的Inadequate:
-Bristol小學: Waycroft Academy – 降至Requires Improvement
-Bristol中學: Montpelier High School – 降至Inadequate
-Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole小學: Stourfield Infant School – 降至 Requires Improvement
-Devon小學: Willand School – 降至Requires Improvement
-Gloucestershire小學: Coalway Community Infant School – 降至Requires Improvement
-Plymouth小學: Hyde Park Infants’ School – 降至Inadequate
-Somerset小學: Ash Church of England Primary School – 降至Requires Improvement
-Somerset中學: Heathfield Community School – 降至Requires Improvement
-Torbay小學: Shiphay Learning Academy – 降至Requires Improvement
-Wiltshire中學: St Augustine’s Catholic College – 降至Requires Improvement
由Outstanding降為Good的英國西南部小學:
-Bath: Widcombe Infant School
-Bristol: Brentry Primary School
-Devon: West Hill Primary School
-Devon: Stoke Fleming Community Primary School
-Dorset: St Mary’s Church of England Primary School
-Gloucestershire: St Briavels Parochial Church of England Primary School
由Outstanding降為Good的英國西南部中學:
-Cornwall: Mounts Bay Academy
-Gloucestershire: Sir Thomas Rich’s School
-Gloucestershire: Denmark Road High School
-Torbay: Torquay Boys’ Grammar School
